Motion Smoothing has matured
In the previous release of Varjo Base 3.8, we invited pioneering Varjo users to try out the first iteration of Varjo’s ‘Motion Smoothing’ setting as part of a beta program. Now we’re proud to confirm that the setting is available as an official setting, providing a fluid visual experience that has to been seen to be believed.
By intelligently predicting upcoming motion and inserting additional frames in real-time, the mature version of the setting can replicate a high frame rate experience beyond the expected capabilities of each user’s individual hardware specifications.
Goodbye artefacts, hello high framerates
Thanks to active invaluable feedback during the beta period, Varjo’s team have been able to greatly improve performance and stability, and remove visual artefacts such as ghosting or image wobble.
The new version now allows a smoother visual experience than ever before in high-end VR and XR experiences. Most notably in graphically intense simulations such as Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Varjo Reality Cloud is now faster than ever
Varjo Reality Cloud is the world’s first remote rendering service that allows for real-time streaming of VR and XR content with up to human eye resolution. It now supports (in addition to Autodesk VRED collaboration sessions) the ability to upload VR and XR experiences built with Unity and Unreal to Varjo’s cloud-based file storage, so that they can be streamed on demand by any member of your organisation.
Thanks to improvements under the hood in Varjo Base 3.9, the file upload duration has been reduced by ~50% and general performance has been improved when relying on slower network connections.
