A redesigned Varjo Base interface

Starting with version 4.10, Varjo Base introduces a reimagined desktop interface—ushering in a simpler, more efficient, and visually streamlined experience.

The headset view now takes center stage, offering immediate clarity on device status. Settings have been moved to a dedicated section, making configuration easier to browse and understand. Status messages are less obtrusive, and the layout is now better optimized for different screen sizes.

This design evolution also sets the stage for further improvements to come—and brings the Varjo Base user experience to a whole new level.

Integrated hand tracking (Beta)

With Varjo Base 4.10, you can now interact naturally with XR environments using only your hands.

Our new Varjo hand tracking (Beta) is integrated directly into all XR-4 Series headsets and is compatible with applications built using OpenXR hand tracking. Whether you’re manipulating digital tools, navigating menus, or simply exploring virtual content, hand tracking creates a more intuitive and immersive interaction layer.

As a Beta feature, there are still some known limitations—such as gesture reliability and occasional latency—but your feedback will help us refine the experience in future updates.

With Varjo Base 4.10, we’re laying the groundwork for a smarter, more seamless user experience that evolves with your needs. Major updates are released every two months, with ongoing improvements in between.

We build our software based on direct feedback from our users. If you’ve tried out the new Varjo Base, we’d love to hear from you—especially as we continue to develop the Varjo Base Pro offering and hand tracking feature.
