Varjo’s Trade Agreements Act (TAA) Compliant Mixed Reality Products Now Available in the U.S. via ITI Systems

Arlington, Virginia – February 28, 2022 –  Varjo, the leading provider of industrial-grade VR/XR hardware and software, has announced the unique ability to offer Trade Agreements Act (TAA) and Buy American and Trade Agreements (BAA) compliant mixed reality products for enterprise and governmental customers in the United States. The company has introduced two new TAA-compliant variants (XR3TAARF and XR3TAANRF) of the Varjo XR-3 mixed reality device, manufactured exclusively in Finland. Both TAA-compliant offerings are available in the United States via General Service Agreement (GSA) Contract #47QSMA20D08QG, held by authorized Varjo partner ITI Systems of Beltsville, Maryland.

As demand for immersive tools continues to rise, Varjo’s special offering delivers the most advanced virtual and mixed reality technology for high-security needs. With human-eye resolution, low-latency video pass-through, a 115° field of view, integrated eye and Ultraleap (formerly Leap Motion) hand tracking, and sophisticated depth awareness, the Varjo XR-3 allows professionals to perform at their highest level in a fully immersive environment.

Both of Varjo’s TAA-compliant products come with an Enterprise Priority software subscription to support offline usage in environments where internet connections are not available. While the XR3TAARF maintains the same feature set as the standard Varjo XR-3, the XR3TAANRF model is shipped with all radio components (RF chips and antennae) removed, including the SteamVR™ wireless radio. Due to the removal of wireless radio components, SteamVR™ controllers cannot be used with this variant and the wireless connection to the base stations is not available.

“Varjo products have always been designed with the most demanding professionals in mind,” said Tristan Cotter, General Manager of North America at Varjo. “This means not only offering the highest product quality and most advanced features but also meeting other business requirements for adopting VR/XR technology. Together with ITI Systems, we’re thrilled to now be able to serve high-security customers with this specialized offering.”
