Experience a no-compromise approach to immersion in simulation. Crystal-clear 4K-per-eye mini-LED displays deliver the precision and realism required for true one-to-one recreations of operational environments.

An ultra-wide 120° × 105° field of view achieves full binocular range vision, while 200 nits of brightness and a 1:10 000 contrast ratio with local dimming support both day and night training scenarios.

A new, dedicated night mode supports low-light mission simulation, and the gaze-driven autofocus system achieves an unprecedented 51 pixels-per-degree resolution for the most realistic passthrough experience available.

Unlike other headsets in the XR-4 Series, all XR-4 Secure Edition units are assembled in a state-of-the-art facility in Finland, ensuring full TAA compliance.

Each headset runs completely offline and can be configured to have no radio components, ensuring they are suitable for exceptionally high-security situations and closed-loop network environments.

Case U.S. Army RVCT Air Program

Varjo was chosen as the XR technology provider for the U.S. Army’s Reconfigurable Virtual Collective Trainer (RVCT) Air Program in 2023, enabling a portable training capability for three different helicopters: Apache, Chinook, and Blackhawk. U.S. Army pilots use Varjo’s high resolution mixed reality to experience a fully immersive training environment where they can interact with physical controls in real-time.

The Varjo XR-4 Secure Edition consists of two variants. For use cases where virtual content is the focus of the experience, the fixed focus version provides best-in-class visual fidelity. For scenarios where real-world elements need to be seen in perfect detail, such as simulators with detailed physical cockpits, the autofocus version adds enhanced passthrough to the mix.

SteamVR™ and inside-out tracking come standard, providing full 6DoF positional tracking without base stations. The headset also supports ART and OptiTrack via API, and optical hand tracking is included by default.

An optional chin strap accessory enhances stability for highly dynamic training scenarios.
